This year we are going to have a special one-hour oral session featuring recent articles from the IEEE Transactions on Haptics (ToH). This session aims to further elevate the quality and diversity of research presented at the IEEE Haptics Symposium. For this session, the editorial board of ToH has selected four papers with the following criteria:
- Published in 2013 or accepted for publication
- High quality and potential broad impact
- Not presented in any other conferences
The papers to be presented are:
- Vibrotactile Rendering of Splashing Fluids
G. Cirio, M. Marchal, A. Lécuyer, and J.R. Cooperstock
IEEE Transactions on Haptics, Volume 6, Number 1, pages 117 - 122
- Perceptual Analysis of Vibrotactile Flows on a Mobile Device
J. Seo and S. Choi
IEEE Transactions on Haptics, Volume 6, Number 4, pages 522 - 527
- HyVE – Hybrid Vibro-Electrotactile Stimulation – is an Efficient Approach to Multi-Channel Sensory Feedback
M. D’Alonzo, S. Dosen, C. Cipriani, and D. Farina
In press
- Spatial Asymmetry in Tactile Sensor Skin Deformation During Haptic Exploration Aids Prediction of Edge Orientation
R.D. Ponce Wong, R.B. Hellman, and V.J. Santos
In press
The chairs of this session will be Ed Colgate and Lynette Jones, the past and present Editors in Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Haptics. We hope that this session will enable direct interaction betwen the audience and the authors of these interesting papers.
